By sharing stories, As I Am Institute recognizes the members, families and friends of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community as leaders in self-actualization, in bridge-building across differences, and in forging paths to express the human quest for wholeness physically, psychologically and spiritually.

As I Am Institute Executive Director Robin Hankins hosts a weekly show featuring local and national authors, activists and celebrities discussing current LGBT issues and exploring how our community can move into the future with an equal voice.

We will feature families, communities and religions who are open to focus on love and acceptance rather than difference and debate.

As I Am Institute, Inc. assists LGBT persons in discovering their authentic selves, achieving equality, restoring relationship with family and community, and accessing resources that encourage mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Vision Statement

We envision a world where all people enjoy equal rights and respect, can freely unfold their authentic selves, and find community support for mental, emotional and spiritualwellbeing; a world where LGBT persons transcend oppression and realize their strengths; and where LGBT persons move out of isolation to reclaim spiritual affiliation, place in family, and power in community.

We believe that all people are created equal and entitled to all civil rights and liberties; that all people deserve to feel safe and free to be authentic within their families, jobs and communities; and that ending LGBT oppression is a moral imperative.
