Coalition of Counselors (A-Z)

The coalition of counselors are therapists that we have met with, screened and deemed safe to provide counseling to members of our community.

This is how they have answered the following questions:

  • Do you believe homosexuality is a sin? No
  • Do you believe gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people should have the right to marry and adopt children? Yes
  • Do you believe that homosexuality is in any way secondary or less than heterosexuality? No

They have all signed the following statement:

"I believe that all people are created equal and entitled to all civil rights and liberties as available in this country; that all people deserve to feel safe and free to be authentic within their families, jobs and communities; and that oppression of the LGBT community must end."

Are you a counselor who'd like to join the Coalition? Please Contact Us.

Do you know a counselor who you think should be included? Nominate them here!

I came out in my 40s and realized the struggles of being gay in a conservative area. I have a large circle of LGBT friends and I am committed to supporting our community.

I am a generalist who works with individuals, couples and families.

I often first see people when they are in the depths of despair. I find joy in seeing them rise from those depths into new ways of being. I love to help people figure out how to be happy.

Chery Kraemer, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, is in private practice in Clearwater, Florida. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin in psychology and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She has been practicing in Florida since 2002 after her son graduated from high school.

Chery has studied under the Dalai Lama, which she believes gives her a unique perspective. She is open and caring and dedicated to helping people of all ages cope with life's problems. She has worked with the LGBT community since the late '90s.

I love working with all people, helping them in making better educated decisions about their lives. I hope, most of the time, to keep families together, especially if there are children.

My focus is in helping people: individuals, couples and families obtain their goals in becoming happier and healthier. In a great deal of cases, helping one throw off the burdens left by and scarred by abuse.

What inspires me as a therapist, is seeing folks become more of what they want to be, or aspire to be. I often have the children I have helped in families return with their own stressors as adults. That kind of trust is inspiring.

I began working in the field of addictions almost 30 years ago. I am still comfortable in working with individuals who have an addictions issue or come from families with this very significant problem. I then received a Masters in Health Sciences, with a focus in Biofeedback. This background helped me work with pain management and chronic medical disorders. I am also nationally certified in Pain Management and Biofeedback. With this mind/body/spirit background, I returned to receive a Masters in Social Work and psychotherapy. I have been in Private Practice since 2001. Recently, I have added a specialty in counseling with court and parental custody issues. I work in a convenient location in the Samuel Wells complex behind Memorial Hospital. I work five days week and have one or two late evenings. I am always available for questions regarding my therapy and fees.
