Coalition of Counselors (A-Z)

The coalition of counselors are therapists that we have met with, screened and deemed safe to provide counseling to members of our community.

This is how they have answered the following questions:

  • Do you believe homosexuality is a sin? No
  • Do you believe gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people should have the right to marry and adopt children? Yes
  • Do you believe that homosexuality is in any way secondary or less than heterosexuality? No

They have all signed the following statement:

"I believe that all people are created equal and entitled to all civil rights and liberties as available in this country; that all people deserve to feel safe and free to be authentic within their families, jobs and communities; and that oppression of the LGBT community must end."

Are you a counselor who'd like to join the Coalition? Please Contact Us.

Do you know a counselor who you think should be included? Nominate them here!

It is the same impetus that motivates me to work with all clients...to help people overcome the issues that are holding them back from peace and joy. I have two first cousins who are gay. I understand the pain of family rejection or, at the least, disapproval that gay people endure after coming out. One of my cousins is in a long term committed relationship and she and her partner are happy.

The primary focus of my practice is stress relief. I help people lower their level of anxiety and live a more stress resilient lifestyle.

I am inspired by the fact that so many clients are motivated to seek out help. I am also excited by the many healing modalities available. These are definitely exciting times.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University. Although my primary interest was psychology, finances dictated that I take another route and I chose Social Studies education. After moving to Florida, I taught junior high school for 9 years and then pursued my masters in counseling. The next twenty one years were spent as an elementary school counselor. During this time I was licensed as a mental health counselor and worked at the Charter Outpatient Clinic. In 2001, I retired from the school system and opened a private practice in Mandarin. I work primarily with adults. My practice includes both gay and straight clients.
